Since our last update on Panico eSports, about two weeks have passed. During that time, the team has played several important matches and currently holds a solid record in this season of ESEA Entry. Their 7–5 standing looks promising, but still doesn’t guarantee a safe spot in the playoffs. To comfortably secure advancement to the next stage, Panico will need to claim more wins in the upcoming games. Today, we take a look back at their recent journey and what lies ahead for the squad.
Second half starts with a stumble, but the comeback is still possible
Although the start of the second half of the regular season didn’t go Panico eSports’ way, the team quickly proved they can bounce back from defeats. Two early losses could have shaken their confidence, but the following matches brought improvement and a slow return to form. So how did this series unfold, and what does it mean for their playoff hopes?
Panico eSports [7:13] :ua: Midgard eSports | Ancient
The first match in the second half of ESEA Season 54 definitely didn’t go Panico’s way. Problems appeared from the very start, and the opponent quickly set the pace of the game. The first half ended with a clear four-round lead for Midgard, making a comeback much more difficult. Unfortunately, although the second half was slightly more balanced, the earlier advantage was enough for the opponents to comfortably close the map 7:13. Despite the loss, Voila stood out as the only player with a positive kill-death ratio. Bud1nC4 also contributed, providing effective team support with his grenades, blinding opponents 21 times.
Panico eSports [4:13] 🇬🇧 Tropic Thunder | Nuke
The second match we’re covering today proved even tougher than the first. From the very first rounds, Tropic Thunder took control of the map, setting the pace and winning the first half 3:9. After switching sides, the opponents’ lead was too big for Panico to mount a comeback. As a result, Tropic Thunder quickly closed out the match with a clear 4:13 victory. Unfortunately, in such a one-sided game, the stats didn’t offer much optimism. None of the Panico players ended the match with a positive kill-death ratio, though Voila came closest, finishing with an even balance of kills and deaths.
Panico eSports [1:0]
BEZ4ITA | walkover
Panico kicked off their fight for the playoffs with… no opponent. BEZ4ITA failed to field a full roster, and only one player showed up on the server. While the situation may have been frustrating, as Panico lost several minutes waiting, the result is what counts in the end. Instead of a full, statistically hour-long match, they recorded a quick walkover victory. This extra time could then be used for practice or simply to rest.
Panico eSports [13:11] :ua: YoungBlood | Dust 2
This match turned out to be one of the most closely contested of the entire season. From the very first rounds, neither team was willing to give an inch, and the back-and-forth battle continued almost until the end. A slight advantage went Panico’s way, allowing them to close the first half at 7:5. The second half didn’t bring any major changes, with the game unfolding almost round by round. However, the earlier lead proved crucial, enabling Panico to secure the match 13:11 without the need for overtime. Individually, Voila shone brightly, recording an impressive 30 kills against just 14 deaths. On top of that, his grenade play was excellent, blinding opponents 26 times, although unfortunately 16 of his allies got caught in the crossfire.
Panico eSports [1:0]
VZ_TEAM | walkover
The final match of the day didn’t bring any real excitement. The Russian team VZ_TEAM failed to field a full roster and had to forfeit the game. This time, Panico didn’t even have to go through the veto process. The win was automatically awarded to them, allowing the team to quickly attend to their matters off the server.
Panico eSports’ Crucial Moments in the Regular Season
After the latest series of matches, Panico eSports holds a solid 7–5record, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Although two losses at the start of the second half of the season could have shaken their confidence, three consecutive wins helped the team get back on track—even if two of them came via walkovers. Now, Panico faces the most crucial moments of the regular season, with their next opponent being :fi: 18S, whom they will face on August 25 at 20:30.
