SGL Season 4: Starfire – HyperSpirit’s victory run

SGL Season 4: Starfire has been ended. It’s not the same tournament as SGL Season 4. This tournament got 1.550 euros in the prize-pool and 8 teams were fighting for these prizes. The tournament started on 17th April 2025 and ended 2 days ago (16/05/2025).

The group stage was double-elimination, with opening matches playing in bo1 system. The eliminations matches and winners matches were playing in best of three format.

GROUP A

  1. 🌍Divergent, 2-0
  2. 🇩🇰 Copenhagen Wolves Academy, 1-1
  3. 🇱🇻 Cyber Empire, 1-1
  4. 🇳🇴 Nordix Esport, 0-2

In the opening matches, we got fixtures like Cyber Empire against Copenhagen Wolves Academy and Divergent against Nordix Esport. To qualify for the playoffs you need to win at least 1 match, if you win 2 you’ll be starting from semi-final. Copenhagen Wolves Academy dominated Cyber Empire by winning 13 to 6 on ancient.

Divergent, also dominated their rival, they won 13 to 5 on ancient against Nordix Esport. Divergent played with stand-in, despite that they managed to win.

The elimination match was played in bo3 format. Cyber Empire against Nordix Esport. Winner advances into quarterfinal, loser goes home. Nordix had to play with stand-in on the 1st map due to technical difficulties. Cyber Empire won first map 13 to 5, it was inferno. The second map was ancient, and it was more even than the first one. We even saw the overtime. Unfortunately, for Nordix Esport that was the last map in this tournament. After one overtime, they have been defeated 13 to 16. Cyber Empire will play in the quarter-final – congratulations.

SGL SEASON 4: Starfire, Elimination match

Both teams qualify to playoff’s quarterfinal by winning the opening match, but they can make one step forward and be closer to the grand-final. Winners of this match qualify automatically for the semi-final, when the loser will be facing a rival in the quarter-final.

Divergent against Copenhagen Wolves Academy. The very first map was inferno, dominated by Divergent’s players, they defeated CPH Wolves Academy 13 to 4. If you think that is one-sided result, Divergent proved that they can be even more effective and completely destroyed CPH Wolves Academy’s players on second map (ancient) by winning 13 to 0.

GROUP B

  1. 🇳🇴 INFURITY Gaming, 2-0
  2. 🇱🇻 HAVENs, 1-1
  3. 🇷🇴 HyperSpirit, 1-1
  4. 🌍CTRL Esports, 0-2

In the very first matches of group B we got HyperSpirit against HAVENs and CTRL Esports against INFURITY Gaming. Unfortunately, only one of these matches has been played. It was the first one, HAVENs won 13 to 6 on mirage.

Like we said, the second match didn’t happen due to forfeit. CTRL Esports has been defeated by forfeit and INFURITY Gaming goes to the second round.

CTRL Esports gave another forfeit, this time in elimination match against HyperShift and the second team qualifies for the playoffs stage.

  • CTRL Esports 02 HyperShift, forfeit

The winners match: HAVENs against INFURITY Gaming. Winner advances into semi-final, loser goes into quarter-final. The very first map in this match was inferno, and it was very even. To determine a winner, we needed 2 overtimes. Finally, this map ended 22 to 20 for INFURITY Gaming. The second map was dust2, and it wasn’t as even as the first one. HAVENs dominated INFURITY by winning 13 to 6. The decider and the last one was Nuke, won by INFURITY Gaming 13 to 7.

Quarterfinals

HAVENs and Cyber Empire in the very first quarter-final as SGL Season 4’s Starfire. The first map in this fixture was ancient, dominated by HAVENs’s players 13 to 5. Second one was nuke. This time, Cyber Empire was better by winning 13 to 9, and we got 1-1 in maps. The decider and the last one in this fixture was a mirage. The most even map in this fixture so far. We needed 1 overtime to determine a winner, which was HAVENs by winning 16 to 12.

SGL SEASON 4: Starfire, quarter-final

The second and the last one quarter-final was between Copenhagen Wolves Academy and HyperSpirit. It wasn’t as even as the first quarterfinal. In fact, the HyperSpirit’s players dominated a team from Denmark (mainly) 2-0 in maps. On the very first map, they won, letting only two rounds for enemies (mirage). Second was anubis, also dominated by HyperSpirit’s players, this time opponent won only 4 rounds.

Semifinals

Divergent against HAVENs. The first map in this fixture was Dust2. Won easily by Divergent’s players 13 to 6. Second wasn’t better for HAVENs’s players. They’ve defeated and won only 7 rounds. That’s how Divergent joins grand-final.

SGL SEASON 4: Starfire, semi-final

The second semi-final was more even, but not even like we wanted to be. INFURITY Gaming against HyperSpirit. The first map was Dust2. HyperSpirit with a little struggle, won by 13 to 8. The second map was more even, it was anubis. INFURITY Gaming needed 1 round to get into overtimes. Unfortunately for them, it didn’t happen, and they lost 11 to 13.

SGL SEASON 4: Starfire, semi-final

The grand-final was played in BO5 format. Divergent against Hyper Spirit. Dust2, ancient, mirage, anubis and nuke – list of maps in this fixture. The first one, dust2, was dominated by HyperSpirit’s players 13 to 2. Divergent didn’t want long to reply, they won second map (ancient) 13 to 7. The third map was mirage. Won 13 to 9 by HyperSpirit. The fourth and the last map in this fixture was anubis, also won 13 to 9 by HyperSpirit and that’s how HyperSpirit’s incredible run ends. Congratulations to the winners of the SGL Season 4: Starfire. Also, congrats for the vice champions – Divergent.
