We are after first matches of SGL’s season 4 group stage. The matches in this stage are being played in BO3 format with double-elimination system. Let’s begin with group A. In the first match we got Split ESC against GooGooSuno. Split ESC quickly won this match 2-0 in maps. 13:7 on dust II and 13:3 on nuke.
The second match in this group was between REViTAL BLACKTRAiN and HOKAYT. Like in the very first match, we saw only two maps in this fixture. The first one, ancient, was dominated by REViTAL’s players, they won letting enemies win only one round. The second map was more even. We can watch one overtime, REViTAL’s players won second map by 16 to 13, it was anubis.
Third match in this group and already a Polish derby. Constrict Gaming and Gloris eSports. Another match-up with 2 maps inside. Of course, the very first map in polish derby must be mirage. This time won by Constrict Gaming’s player 13 to 5. The second map was train, also won by Constrict’s players, this time letting enemies win 9 rounds.
The very last match-up of the 1st round in group A was between Polish DropDeadGaming and international Chaos Champions. Like we said before, the group stage is double-elimination stage, so if your team has been defated in the upper bracket, then you’re being moved into the lower bracket, where teams can’t do mistakes, if they’re dreaming of playoffs.
Lower bracket — 1st round
We don’t have good news for CS2’s enjoyers. Both of the lower bracket matches (1st round) wasn’t played due to forfeits.
GooGooSuno 2:0 HOKAYT (forfeit)
Gloris eSports 0:2 DropDeadGaming (forfeit)
Upper bracket— 2nd round
Split ESC mean to play against REVITAL BLACKTRAIN, but the second team gave up a forfeit, and by that they’ve been moved into lower bracket semifinal, where they will play against DropDeadGaming. Split ESC will take Constrict Gaming in the upper bracket final. The winner of the bracket final will be marked as group A winner, and by that this team will start playoff stage from semi-final, not like the loser, from quarter-final.
Fortunately, the second match in this group was played. Both teams players showed up on the server and both of them gave us a really good cs. Well, maybe not on the first map, where Constrict’s players demolished REViTAL by winning 13 to 3, but just look at the result of the second map. Two overtimes needed to determine a winner. In the end, Constrict Gaming was a better team and they will face Split ESC in the group A final.
Split ESC 2:0 REViTAL BLACKTRAiN (forfeit)
Constrict Gaming 2:1 Chaos Champions
nuke 13:3
ancient 19:22

Lower bracket — 2nd round
In the lower bracket, we got GooGooSuno against Chaos Champions. If we dig more into SGL’s stages, we’re getting more even matches. Like we said before, only one match in the first round got 3 maps in fixture, now we’re getting the second one in the second round. The first map in this fixture was dust II, won by Chaos’s players 13 to 11. GooGooSuno won second map (anubis), they defeated Chaos Champions 13 to 8. Decider was demolished by Chaos’s players by winning 13 to 2 on ancient. Chaos Champions will play in lower bracket semi-final, therefore GooGooSuno has been eliminated from SGL Season 4.
The second fixture in the second round of group A’s lower bracket was with DropDeadGaming’s players and REViTAL BLACKTRAiN. Well, they’ve been representing REViTAL BLACKTRAiN on SGL Season 4, now they’re looking for organization. The ex-REViTAL BLACKTRAiN’s players won this fixture 2-0 in maps. They dominated Polish players by winning 13:6 on ancient and 13:3 on mirage.

Like we said before, Constrict Gaming against Split ESC. The winner goes into semi-final, when losers go into quarter-final. We can’t count this match into the even ones. Split ESC pretty easily won 2-0 in maps, 13:9 on ancient and 13:9 on mirage. They will be starting playoffs from semi-final, when Constrict Gaming will start their journey in playoffs from quarter-final.

Lower bracket — final
Chaos Champions against ex-REViTAL BLACKTRAiN. Winner advances into quarter-final. We saw all three maps in this fixture, but none of them was even. A lot of one-sided results. The first was inferno, picked by Chaos Champions. Despite that, ex-REViTAL’s players managed to win opponent’s picked map, 13:5. Second was picked by Chaos’s opponents, and just like their enemy, they won this map 13:6, it was ancient. The decider was anubis, and just like on the first and second map we saw a one-sided result. This time for ex-REViTAL’s players, they won this map 13 to 4.
ex-REViTAL BLACKTRAiN 2:1 Chaos Champions
inferno 13:5

GROUP B — 1st round
We got a little weird situation in group B’s first match. ZennoX Academy against HAFO Gang. The first map was played normally. ZennoX Academy’s players won this map 13:4, but the second map was forfeited, by HAFO GANG’s players and that’s why ZennoX’s players will play in upper stage’s 2nd round. We don’t know the reason for now.
Fortunately, the second match in group B was played normally. CSDE Cantera against Andromeda Gaming. The first map was dominated by CSDE’s players 13 to 1. Second map wasn’t that much one-sided as the first one, but it looks like CSDE’s players been controlling the result, they won 13:8 on anubis.
Unfortunately, the last two matches of upper bracket’s 1st round didn’t mean to be played. We saw 2 forfeits and that’s how TEAM ASCEND and Kill On Sight advances into upper bracket’s second round.

Lower bracket — 1st round
HAFO GANG against Andromeda Gaming. The only defeated teams in 1st round, not by forfeit are facing eachother in the lower bracket 1st round and one of them will be knocked out from this tournament. Luckily, we needed all three maps in this fixture to determine a winner. Inferno, picked by HAFO GANG was won by Andromeda’s players 13 to 6. Therefore, they’ve been defeated on ancient 11:13 and on the decider (nuke) also 11:13.
We got two teams that’ve been defeated in 1st round (not by forfeit) and we got match-up with two teams that gave up a forfeit. EKIPA against TurTles Clan and you’re propably right. This match didn’t happened. EKIPA won this match by forfeit.
Andromeda Gaming 1:2 HAFO GANG

ZennoX Academy (now ex-ZennoX Academy) against CSDE Cantera. Another match-up where we can see all three maps, but again, the results weren’t two-sided, maybe one map was very even. Mirage, picked by CSDE Cantera, was won by them 13:4. They’ve been defeated on opponent’s pick, ancient 10:13. Finally, they won the decider map 13:6 (nuke).
Team ASCEND agaisnt Kill On Sight will be the next match with all three maps included. Inferno, won by KoS 13:8, Mirage defeated 11:13 and ancient, won 13:11 and that’s how KoS’s players advances into upper bracket final, where they will play for semi-final’s slot in playoffs.

Decider was train, and they’ve been dominated by HAFO GANG’s players. In the end, we saw 3:13 result on the results table.

Upper bracket final
CSDE Cantera against Kill On Sight. Only two maps included, but one map we can mark as high class, when we’re looking at the result. First was nuke, picked by CSDE Cantera and has been won by them 13:7. The second map was absolute cinema. Not one, not two but three overtimes. Finally Inferno has been victorious for CSDE Cantera’s players, they managed to score 28 rounds, when thei r rival won 26. KoS’s players will start playoffs from quarterfinal, when CSDE Cantera will be starting from semi-final.
Kill On Sight 0:2 CSDE Cantera
nuke 7:13
inferno 26:28
Lower bracket final
Winner advances into quarter-final, loser is going home. Team ASCEND against ZennoX Academy. We saw all three maps in this fixture. The match was very tough and even for both sides. First map, inferno, picked by TEAM ASCEND. They’ve been defeated on their own pick, after one overtime, 14:16. Identically on second map (ancient), but the only difference is that someone used uno card and this time TEAM ASCEND won 16:14. Decider was dust II, and it wasn’t less emotional than the very first two maps of this fixture, despite not having a single overtime. Team ASCEND managed to win this map 13:11, and they’ll be taking last slot in playoffs. That’s the propably reason why ZennoX organization removed players from academy’s roster.
ZennoX Academy 1:2 Team ASCEND
inferno 16:14
ancient 14:16
dust II 11:13
QUARTERFINALS
The only match in quarterfinals stage was between TEAM ASCEND and Constrict Gaming. Only 2 maps in this fixture, but the first one was very even and good to watch. Dust II picked by TEAM ASCEND, also won by them, but after two overtimes 19:17. Second map (train) also victorious for them, this time will less problems, 13:8.
Constrict Gaming 0:2 TEAM ASCEND
dust II 17:19
train 8:13
SEMIFINALS
Now, we’re in the stage where the real fun begins. Split ESC against LFO (ex-REViTAL) in the very first semi-final of SGL S4. This match is a quite surprise. LFO’s players dominated Split ESC, not only on one map, but on two maps. First, inferno won 13:5, second, dust II won, this time letting enemies win only 2 rounds and that’s how LFO’s players are saying “present” in grand-final.
In second semi-final we got well-playing CSDE Cantera and TEAM ASCEND. The favourite of this match-up was CSDE Cantera, for sure, but we didn’t bet that this will be so one-sided fixture. TEAM ASCEND’s player didn’t make any problems. First map, won 13:9 (dust II), second one – anubis won by letting enemies win only 5 rounds.
Split ESC 0:2 LFO
inferno 5:13
dust II 2:13
CSDE Cantera 2:0 TEAM ASCEND
dust II 13:9
anubis 13:5
GRANDFINAL
We are often seeing that finals at SGL’s structure are being played in BO5 format, and that’s what we like. We are wishing for ourselves and for polish amateur scene’s fans that more tournaments in our origin country will follow the foreigner’s grand-final format. The reason is simple, because it’s enjoyable more than BO3s.
CSDE Cantera against LFO. This time we got a high-tier final, and by that we mean that in this final we watched all 5 maps. The final started magnificient, two overtimes on first map, ancient, picked by LFO. CSDE Cantera managed to take a lead in this BO5 by winning 19:17. Second map was anubis and we didn’t need overtimes this time, picked by LFO and won by them 13:9. Dust II was picked by CSDE Cantera’s players and also has been won by them, this time 13:6. Last map picked by LFO, mirage and just like in the very first map in this fixture we needed overtime to determine a winner. This time LFO’s players were better. The decider map was train, won by CSDE Cantera and they’re the winners of SGL S4. Congratulations.
CSDE Cantera 3:2 LFO
ancient 19:17
