Today we bring you a interview with CEO of Panico eSports – Daniele “TuNiN” Maresca. He created this team on 14th of April 2023. We would like also to admit that TuNiN is also an active player for their CS2 roster. We asked him about ESEA Open Season 50 and future plans for the organisation. Our questions will be marked as [Q] and answers will be marked as [T].
[Q] Hello TuNiN, can you please introduce yourself to our readers?
[T] Hello everyone, I am Daniele “TuNiN” Maresca, a 28 year old CS fanatic from the small Mediterranean island named Malta.
I’ve been player CS for more than 10 years and throughout the years I’ve gained a lot of leadership traits that eventually helped me to form our Amateur Counter-Strike Team, Panico eSports. Panico eSports was founded on the 14th of April 2023 and we consider it as an on-going, long-term project with high ambitions and goals.
[Q] We made a deal about cooperation like few months ago, can you please tell your honest opinion about our cooperation?
[T] The initial talks of our co-operation with Superiongg started by direct contact on our official Instagram Page (@panicoesport). After doing our re-search about this organization we have agreed the terms for this co-operation and I can confirm that myself together with all team members are very happy that we have this partnership. Superiongg does not only provide a lot of information about teams, tournaments and players but it also exposes new and upcoming European teams, helping them to progress in the scene.
[Q] What was the plan for CS2’s roster in 50th season of ESEA?
[T] ESEA Season 50 was our very first ESEA season ever and even though we had an idea of the quality our oppponents will have, we still did not fully know what to expect.
We managed to bag 4 solid wins while losing 7 games. In addition, we had to forfeit the last 3 games of the season due to internal problems with a couple of players that refused to co-operate. These players were removed from the team and are completely unassociated with our team. In the meantime, we have started works to improve and analyze everything regarding the upcoming season.
[Q] What is your plans for the upcoming few months?
[T] At the moment we are in the process of re-shuffling our main roster. We are keeping 3 players from the core, existing roster while trialing out 2 / 3 other players to be part of the team. Last season we had our main IGL on a 3 month long vacation but he will finally join us again at the end of September. Once the roster is completed, we will analyze the possibility to join the next ESEA Season together with other upcoming tournaments.
[Q] Majority Polish teams changing lineups after month, mainly because players are leaving the server, will you go the same route as Polish teams and we will we see changes in your rosters too or you still stick together?
[T] Ideally, we would’ve liked to stick to a consistent roster even because this is what was communicated when the players joined the team. It was clear from day one that Panico eSports is an on-going project however a couple of players failed to understand that and we had no option other than removing them from the team. As I mentioned earlier, we are on the lookout for fresh faces to join our team and compete in the next set of tournaments and leagues.
[Q] Can you describe how you managed to make a international CS2 roster?
[T] To be completely honest, i find it way easier to trial out and recruit players from the international community rather than the local community. The selection and choices of players is larger. As long as players have a decent standard of english and everyone can be understood then I do not see a huge difference between an international roster and a national one.
[Q] Are you planning to create new CS2 rosters, maybe like academy or something? Maybe new squads in new games like League of Legends for example or new valve game – deadlock?
[T] New squads in other competitive games like League of Legends, definitely not in our plans however we might consider creating an academy team in the future. It is not something that will happen soon because we want to fully focus on our current main roster first.
[Q] Thanks for taking a part in this interview and for your time. Would you like to add something from yourself for your fans?
[T] I would like to thank all the SuperionGG staff for inviting me to this interview and for the great work they are doing with all the teams in this co-operation. With regards to our fans, I would like to thank them for their constant support. We noticed all their love and encouragement in all our streamed games and social media.
